5? Yes 5!! Bathroom? Yay bathroom!!

James turned 5 on Wednesday. I cannot believe I am the mum of a 5 year old.

He had a party yesterday. It was planned to be at the park but this unpredictable September weather changed that plan and we had it at our house. The kids went wild in the back yard. Probably because the backyard is wild.
James is sick again today. Darn tonsillitis but he had a great day yesterday so I am happy. Not happy that he is sick again. Poor little bugger.

Fairy (devil) she was a complete party animal

Mum forced them to smile

Look at how happy he looks!

Will has done some work to the bathroom. Painted it white. It looks so lovely without those yucky horrible foul brown/green/poo bricks showing.
Our lovely new cabinet was put up today too. I am so glad we splurged on it because it makes the bathroom look awesome and will divert the need to renovate it properly for a few more years!! The cabinet will be painted for now and we are replacing the basin. It looks like its been cut up. Weird.

But our first even bigger job begins next week. The back is being levelled out! Yay! Then grass!! Yay!!

Before

After - amazing what paint and a good mirror can do. Note the sexy lady in the reflection. Yep that's me.

Till next time.....bye!

LATELY

I know it has been a while.
So much has happened.
This happened

Book week and he got best costume in kindy. Yay!

This also happened. How big are they? So big.

The most exciting thing though (no offence Cat in the Hat) was this....

Yep that double brick 4 (3) by 1 is ours. The For Sale sign was taken down before we had time to take a photo with it. Saying that it was up for a week after settlement. Anyway.
It will be renovated. It will be painted. Things will be planted and walls will be knocked. Did I mention I now own a flash double oven? Oh yes and its black. There is exposed brick throughout the whole house and I mean there is not one wall plastered. It is literally a brick house. On a massive block.
350 METRES FROM THE BEACH. You can actually see the beach from our driveway. And smell the beach and hear the beach. The best thing is no more renting. There are pink tiles in the bathroom and I have this growing need to rip the lino off the floor but other than that it's fine for now!

I brought the kids curtains yesterday. Turns out buying them is actually cheaper than making them. I have no storage space whatsoever. That's ok though.
Massive backyard of sand and weeds

kitchen will be done.....hopefully next year

words cannot even describe my hate for this room. Its quite large so I will forgive it for now

So this has been our life so far. We have only been here a week (!), we have so many plans, hopefully everything runs smoothly!!

Sunday rant

I have noticed something lately. People are becoming ruder. It seems people think they can ask you anything now.
I always remember being pregnant with Amelia and a older lady actually asking me if she was a accident. No she wasn't and it does not even matter if she was but why would she even think it was ok to ask that?
We have a situation in our life that is really exciting and huge and we have only told a few people. Yet people still ask us questions that you should not even ask.
I actually told one person it was rude to ask this certain question and he replied "I can go find it on the internet anyway!"!
Where have people's manners gone? No one is polite. Yes I admit I am a bit rude and sometimes ask questions I shouldn't but this is in a one on one conversation with someone!!
I would never ask someone how much they earn or how big their mortgage is!!! Or if your baby was a accident. My god!
Maybe it's the industry I work in that makes me like this? Or maybe I just think people should mind their own business?
(Don't even get me started on not replying to messages!)
Either way please bring back manners people. Thank you

Fickle little me

So I deactivated my Facebook account months ago. It was boring and I was getting negative towards people because there was so much whinging.
I thought I was missing out though. What happens if something amazing gets announced on it and I miss out? So I re-activated my account and it turns out I'm missing out on nothing. Nothing at all. A few cute pictures of babies and thats it. So I turned it off AGAIN! Ha!
Facebook does not inspire me. It's just another platform for people to voice opinions. A bit like this blog. Right?
In happier news the new Gaslight Anthem album comes out today!! Yay!!

Life at the moment. Sort of. More last week and the future...

Since my last post my days have been filled with nonsense and drama and exhaustion.
Ok not really but seriously. James got concussion and we spent the night in hospital. There was a crazy storm and I spent two nights at mum and dads (chicken I am). Will worked 5, 12 hour shifts so we didn't see each other for a week. That was hard.
Even harder than accepting the fact James got concussion while playing connect 4. That kid is hard core.
Other than missing Will ALOT, this week flew.
James got his first certificate at school assembly in front of the whole school! That was amazing. His teacher did not tell me though and I wish I was there to see him but he honestly was not fazed by it at all. He will be in stage 1 at swimming next term and he is only 4. Again this does not faze him at all.
I am getting extremely bored at work and searching my brain with something I can study. When you have people bitching to you about the interest rates - it does not matter that they are lovely and low and people still want to complain about things they have no control over and something that I have absolutely no control over - you think to yourself, why am I serving these jackasses? Tough question.
Anyway in "I gave birth to two of our children and had NO DRUGS with one of them so this is payback" news.....Will is getting a vasectomy in 5 weeks. FIVE WEEKS. Seriously.
He told me he was going to get his mother to come over the next day to look after him. I told him if he did that I would seriously leave him because that would mean he was a total pussy. He said I am mean. His doctor said he could go back to work the next day. She is a woman. She also nearly gave us high fives when we told her we wanted the referral. Doctor Snip Snip said he could have a week off. He is a man....
I am expecting a lot of emotional drama from him when it all happens! Ha!
Till next time....

Wills letter......really fitting with the whole vasectomy / mother theme I think!!

The poor little boof in emergency! The spew bucket was his hat!

Hello Hello Hello Hello

I know that I have not posted for awhile. So slack.
I have been busy working and being semi social, chasing after kids, chasing after Will. It is never ending.
I need to exercise and wash my hair and get ready for a kids party. Instead I am googling places to stay in Denmark. Turns out they are all quite cheap and quite crap. Not sure if I like the idea of a b & b and I think our only option might be a stay at the pub. That would be cool. Probably not.

Here are some photos I took in Autumn. It is that lovely time when the sun is still shining though it is getting colder but the rain has not yet arrived. Today the rain has arrived and it is running all month!
My photographer teacher would be appalled. Ha!
